Evaluations:

At Ragonese Psychological Services, LLC we are upfront about the cost of the psychological evaluation and will not add fees and extra charges along the way. Prior to the start of the evaluation, we will develop a comprehensive evaluation plan and a fee for the services outlined. The fee includes everything from the initial consultation to the feedback session and report writing. At RPS, we believe it is best practice to consult with your child’s teachers, therapists, and doctors in order to obtain the most accurate assessment results and do not charge extra for these services. As a courtesy, we will bill your insurance for the evaluation as we are in-network with most insurance companies. However, this is NOT a guarantee of benefits or payment. In most cases, your insurance company may reimburse you for most or at least part of the assessment fee.

Our staff at RPS can help you contact your insurance company and determine what prior authorizations are required in order to facilitate the reimbursement process.

Evaluation fees vary depending on the type of evaluation needed.  Typically, a full, comprehensive psychological evaluation costs approximately $1700.   An educational evaluation to examine for the presence of a specific learning disability (e.g., dyslexia, dysgraphia, etc.) typically costs $1000. Gifted evaluations/Cognitive assessment evaluations are lower cost; please contact RPS for more detailed pricing information.  However, depending on the type of assessment warranted to answer the evaluation questions, this fee could be less.

A 25% deposit is due prior to the first testing session in order to hold your appointment and proceed with the assessment process. Please note, insurance carriers vary regarding prior authorizations, what types of evaluations are covered, and reimbursement rates.
